[After talking with General Riddle and Theodore Riddle, My Father, They both remember Thomas Charles Riddle encouraging the 'boys' to go and register so they could get their share of the money. This occurred as late as 1964-1968. I believe this to be in reference to the resettlement money, given to the Cherokees to abandon their lands and go to the Indian territory. I believe grand-daddy Charley's Grandmother was referring to this when she stated that "she had to go to the court house and register", the last time grand-daddy Thomas Charles Riddle saw her.]

[While talking to my father, Theodore (Ted) and his brother, General Riddle, both related a story about how grand-daddy Charley Riddle talked another Miner who was full blooded native American out of killing the mine foreman. The other native American tried to get grand-daddy Charley to "go to the reservation where they belonged." They also related the fact that grand-daddy Charley was afraid to travel anywhere for fear of being sent to the reservation.]
