Note: Rosa DeBoard in official reports died from accidental drowning, however some reports say that "She hung her bonnet on a tree branch, so they would know where she was, and walked into the water until she could not get out."

I questioned the spelling of Rosa's last name. Listed in Roger Riddle's "Yates Family History", Rosa's last name was spelled both as "DeBoard" and "DeBord". Per a telephone conversation between Richard W. Wilson Sr. and Roger Riddle on December 29, 1998, Mr. Riddle said that in some documentation she was listed as "DeBoard" and other documentation as "Debord".
In this source her name is spelled as "DeBoard".
