Note: It is noted in the named source that the names and birthdays of Sarah, Susanna, Rose, Sherman, Winfield, and Ida (their adopted daughter) was taken from the 1870 Wilkes County and the 1880 Ashe County, North Carolina Census Records. Ella's and Troy's were taken from delayed birth registrations issued by the state of North Carolina. Records # 396 and # 586, in the Ashe County Court House.
