reversed.

Extended Description:
In a large portion of the town, the houses were not numbered. Thus, these were given the most definite location possible. Where the house occupied a corner position on any two streets, the location was given as "(XX person) may live on the (northeast, northwest, southeast, or southwest) corner of (any two) streets." When the house was not on the corner, the street it fronted was given, along with the streets that bounded the block on either side, such as "(XX person) lives on Washington, between High and Walnut."

1901 OBITUARY: "John Bookout, the son of Joseph and Sarah Bookout, was born at Knoxville, Tenn., May 8, 1818. Departed this life at 5 o'clock, Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 1901, at his home, surrounded by the members of his family. Aged 82 years, 8 months, and 22 days.
"He moved with his parents to Wayne county [Indiana] at the age of 10 years and afterward to Randolph county, and lived with his parents until he was married to Clarice Lindsay May 21, 1847. Their union was blessed with six children, of whom five were boys and [one girl]. They lived a happy life until she was stricken with fever and departed this [life in] 1861. He afterward united in marriage to Miss Emily Mosier. To them were born seven children of whome five were boys and two girls. They lived happy together until his death. Early in life he became a member of the M. E. [Methodist Episcopal] church at Thornburg's chapel, in Randolph county, and was an active member until he migrated to Blackford county in 1888. He then united with the Newlight[ers].
"It is almost impossible to realize that Father Bookout's long period of life has closed and that he has gone to take his place with the redeemed. The scenes attend [sic] Father Bookout's last moments, the world will never know and has no right to know. The end was calm and peaceful and Father Bookout retained his consciousness until his death.
"As a christian his piety was not superficial, but deep and experimental and exhibiting itself in a constant attendance on all the means of grace, in the guilelessness of his conversation, in love for God's people with whom he always sympathized, and to whom his hospitable door was opened.
"He loved the church of his choice, not in words only, but in deed and in truth. His sun set at life's close, not like the sun that sinks obscure behind the darkened west, but like the sun that melts away into the light of heaven.
"The closing year of his life was a life of much affliction and bodily suffering. He maintained a cheerful, hopeful disposition. With kindness of heart he was ever plan-[part missing in original]."
