State of birth confirmed by death certificate of his son John Mason Wheat, Book No. H-8, Page No. 158 in Jay, Indiana. 1849 DEATH: According to Randle, Genealogy of the Patterson, Wheat, and Hearn Families, 1926. p103, William Reynolds Wheat died of pneumonia ten days after the death of his brother, Thomas Taggart Wheat. His gravestone says "Wm. Wheat D. March 14, 1849 aged 32y 5mo. 16d." Buried near "Susan Ann 1809-1876 B. in Stuben Co. NY", "Wilber 1810-1871", "Thomas W.", "Mary Patterson D. Sept 2, 1858 aged 64y 8m" and "Hannah wife of Jacob Atkins". Hannah is Wm. Reynolds Wheat Sr.'s sister. He is buried near his mother, Hannah Bonham Patterson Wheat, in the Morehous Graveyard, on the old Silas Morehous Farm. Section 20, Township 25 N, Range 15E, Noble Township, Jay County, Indiana. "Wheat, Hannah, wife of Thomas died Feb 1 1848 in the 58th yr of her age." Cited in Mrs. J.
