James M. "Jim" Smith, 63, of Killeen died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the funeral home.
He was born April 6, 1936 in Fort Sam Houston to Richard Paul Smith and Doris Stringfellow Smith. He married Marie Higgins on Nov. 14, 1956 in Hugo. He was retired from the army after serving for 23 years. He was stationed at Fort Hood during most of his military career.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Smith Jr. of Harker Heights and Richard Paul Smith of Houston; one daughter, Doris Gehert of Alliance, Ohio; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
