Sherman St., died in Deport Nursing Home at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, March 22. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 24,at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddy Johnson, pastor of Ramseur Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friensa from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ward was born Oct. 17, 1809, in Hunt County, a daughter of Carl and Elizabeth Townsend. She married W.W. Ward on Feb. 2, 1921. He died Feb. 11, 1978. She and her husband lived in Cooper until 1936 when they moved to Paris. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W.H. (Dorothy)Wilkerson and Mrs. Bobbie Warren; one son, Marvin Ward; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Townsend and Sammy Townsend.
