a. Note:   , 2012 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Internment will be at 3 p.m., Friday the 6th, at Southpark Cemetery in Pearland, near Houston, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 5th, also at the funeral home. Mr. Myers passed away July 1, 2012 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Bryan. Smith was born August 20, 1926 to James and Jesse Myers in Cope, South Carolina. Smith could be found most afternoons at Sodalaks having his coffee. He enjoyed fishing; he was a member of the VFW in Pearland, the American Legion in Houston, and also the Happy Feet Dancing Club of Snook. Smith is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Tina Myers of Snook; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Clarence Pepper of Bryan; brother, Thurman Myers of Cope, S.C.; sisters, Annie Mae Bessinger of Cope, S.C., Jennie Sue Fuller of Jacksonville, Fla., grandchildren, Joseph Muras, Rebecca Muras, Charlie Myers; step grandchild, Stephanie Moore and husband Matthew. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Betty Arnold Myers, one son; James Myers, three brothers; Monroe, M.C., and Albert Myers, and one sister; Claire Myers. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
