Leamons, 87, of Lodi died July 7 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 9, 1908 in Thornton, Texas. Mr. Leamons moved to Lodi in 1937 from Texas, where he farmed with his father. He worked as a foreman in Lodi for Emil Handel Ranch, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Lodi. He married his wife, Gussie Braden, in 1942. Mr. Leamons is preceded in death by a brother, Lessie Leamons; and a sister, Ada Williams. Mr. Leamons is survived by his wife, Gussie Leamons of Lod; two daughters, Juanita Carbonell of Rohnert Park and Alice Dempsey of Woodbridge; three sisters, Beulah Springfield of Turlock, Idell Braden of Livingston and Maggie Fitzgerald of Santa Cruz; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A church service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nazarene in Lodi with Pastor Charles Plumb officiating. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 2609 E. Hammer Lane, Stockton, 95210.
