Carl R. Daugherty, 78, of Soddy-Daisy, TN passed away Monday, September 19, 2011, at a local health care facility.
For over 42 years he worked for Combustion Engineering which is now Alstom Company. He was a Chief Welding Inspector and a Consulting Engineer in the power plant industry.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a Mason and a Shriner. Flying was his passion.
He dearly missed his wife, Nancy and loved his children.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Timmy) Priest, Carl Daugherty, Donald (Melita) Daugherty, Glen (Leigh Ann) Daugherty, Joe Daugherty; grandchildren, Heather Priest, Chad Priest, Ellen (Nikki) Matherley, Grady Daughtery, Holly Daugherty, Lauren Martin, Joshua Daugherty, Suri Daugherty.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. CDT Thursday at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, La., with Jim Rawlings conducting the service.
Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN.
