Leamons, son "Mom recalls her father (HKL) having to go live with one of his sisters in Louisiana (Alexandria?) at a very early age...we estimate when he was 5-7 years old which would be in the 1893-1896 time frame. Presumably that was due to the death of his parents AJ and Catherine. Mom always called this sister raising HK "Mae" (sp?). I would assume that for Mae to be married and take on such a responsibility she would have been around 20 years old at the time. That would suggest that Mae would have been born in the 1873-76 time period. I'm wondering if "Mae" would have either been Melissa or Missouri Leamons. Mae was married to a Cobb at the time and they had a son Jessie...Also we estimate the time HK lived with Mae was in the 1893 to 1905 period or until HK became 16 and was somewhat on his own earning a living fishing, gator hunting and a little later running a gas station before he became a welder working on steam engines and boilers for the saw mills around southern Arkansas."
