 Charles Eddie St. John, 72, of Delark, formerly of Bearden, died Jan 4, 1998 at his home. He was born March 22, 1925 in Rye, son of the late Aubrey and Mattie Thurman St. John. He was a retired painter, a member of Manchester Methodist Church, a Mason and a navy veteran of World War II.
 Survivors include: His wife, Helen Leamons St. John; three sons, Charles St. John of Camden, Rick St. John of Fordyce and Mickey St. John of Hampton, Va.; a daughter, Pricilla Massey of East Camden; a brother, James St. John of Alabama; two sisters, Willie Mae Glover of Pasadena, Texas, and Nellie Jean Quimbly of Warren; and 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 A graveside service with Masonic rites will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday at Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden. Burial will be under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.(from Sheila Johnson's notes)
