Note: Notes of Mark Rounsavall: In 1823, Isaac purchased 80 acres of property in Franklin County, Mississippi from the U.S. General Land Office in Washington, Mississippi. Isaac Rounsavall remained in Franklin County, Mississippi until some time after 1830. It was at that time that he relocated to northwest Louisiana, most likely to be with sons William and/or Isaac Rounsavall Jr. In 1834, Isaac deeded some property to his daughter, Caroline McCall, and her husband, Thomas McCall. Isaac Rounsavall Sr. died in 1846 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. At the time of his death, Isaac Rounsavall should have been approximately eighty-five years of age. A deposition dated April 12, 1855 by William Rounsavall, Sr., Isaac's son, provides great detail on this family: "Isaac Rounsavall, the grandfather of the plaintiff (Caroline Rounsavall), is dead; he died in Caddo Parish, La. some time during the year 1846. Isaac Rounsavall had seven children, to wit: William; Polly; Caroline, wife of Thomas McCall; Isaac; Cyrus; Hannah; and Martha. In the year 1834 or 1835, said Thomas McCall and his said wife and family moved into the house and home of the said Isaac Rounsavall in Franklin County, Mississippi. Isaac lived with Thomas McCall in the same house in Louisiana until Isaac's death in 1846, when he exercised such control of the slaves as suited him. Isaac Rounsavall moved to Louisiana about the first of 1837, where he lived 'til his death in 1846." In a Probate Case dated September 32, 1859, two of Thomas McCall's children sued his second wife, Elizabeth Page, over the slaves of their grandfather, Isaac Rounsevill, had given to their mother, Caroline, which the father had when he died. Shadrac P. McCall, who called himself a half brother to Thomas McCall, testified that he was present in 1838 when Thomas McCall married Elizabeth Page in Claiborn Parish, Louisiana. He said that Thomas McCall married Caroline Rounsevall in Franklin County, Mississippi and that she had died there in 1836. Shadrack was born in 1817 and Thomass married Caroline when he was only a child. Shadrack and Thomas McCall came to Louisiana on the same boat. Thomas McCall brought his children, Elizabeth, Isabella, Arba, Polly, Caroline and Hannah. This suit goes on to list the spouses of each and where they were living at the time of the suit. Notes from Chris Gibbs: Thomas and Caroline Rounsavall McCall had a daughter Elizabeth born in 1817. She married George Rounsavall in Bossier Parish, Louisiana on November 1, 1847.
