  From Aunt Margie - phone conversation November 1, 2004 She was present when her grandpa died (John William Holder). She was eleven years old. They were at her grandpa's daughter Edith's house on "C" street in Hugo, Choctaw, OK. She said that it started out as red blisters on his feet and that the doctor told them that when the spots reached over his heart he would die. She said that is what happened and that he was very yellow. When he died his mouth opened and puss poured out. She was present through all of this.

  Funeral services for John W. Holder, father of Mrs. J.C. Brewer, of Hugo, Okla., were conducted at the Freewill Baptist Church in Antlers, Okla. Burial was in Antlers Cemetery.
  Mr. Holder was born October 7, 1865 in Saltillo, Texas. He died at 3:15 p.m. in Hugo, August 1, at the age of 85.

Holder, Of El Dorado; Mrs. Bertha Hendrix, of Soper; Mrs. Beedie Smith, of Calera; Mrs. Beulah Wharton, of Saint Jo, Texas; Mrs. Salhi Humphrey, of Deport, Texas; Mrs. Sadie Wharton, of Soper; J.J. Holder, of El Dorado, Arkansas; and Mrs. Brewer, of Hugo.
