Note: Ruby Ellen Van Kirk Obituary
Ruby Ellen Van Kirk went to be with our Lord with her family by her side on Oct. 13, 2017. Ruby was born on May 2, 1939, in Hawthorne, Florida, to Marjorie and Paul Smith. She married Marshall (Billy) Van Kirk on May 1, 1959. Ruby and Billy raised three daughters in St. Augustine.
She enjoyed reading, entertaining, traveling and spending time with family and her friends. She was a member of the St. Augustine Scimitars and the American Legion auxiliary.
She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and beautiful smile.
Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marshall (Billy) Van Kirk; children, Pamela (Gary) Roberts, Lisa (Danny) Brown, Shellie (Mark) Suhar; grandchildren, Ashlee and Joshua Roberts, Cindi Wohland Morris, David Wohland, Blake Brown, Mahki and Trevor Suhar; and four great-grandchildren.
The celebration of Ruby's life will take place at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 21. Visitation is at 10 a.m., memorial service at 11 a.m.
