Atkins 54 of 1919 Moeling street, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at his home. Funeral services were set at 9 a.m. today at the Hixon funeral home chapel with Rev. L. W. Taylor, pastor of the Moss Bluff Methodist church, officiating. Burial was to be at 2 p.m. today in the Chalk Hill cemetery near Jena. Mr. Atkins was a native of Minden, but had lived in Lake Charles for 24 years. He was employed as a millwright in industrial construction and for 20 years was associated with the Harless Lumber Co. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Miss Barbara Atkins of Lake Charles; two brothers, John Atkins of Lake Charles and Hubert Atkins of Port Arthur, Tex.; six sisters, Mrs. Clara May Connelly of Port Arthur, Tex., Mrs. John White of Koonze, Mrs. Virgie Johnson of Odessa, Tex., Mrs. Sybil Carlton of Bossier City, Mrs. Pauline Lackley of Poolock and Mrs. David Hebert of Lake Charles.
