Chuck Leamons
Leamons, Chuck ITASCA -- Chuck Leamons passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at the age of 67 after a valiant fight with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home. Interment: Itasca Cemetery. Visitation: 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Heart Inc., P.O. Box 2081, Whitney, Texas 76692. Born Chuck Leamons in Kosse, Limestone County, he grew up in rural Garland, where he graduated from Garland High School. After studying at North Texas State College, Chuck joined the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he served as the southern regional sales training manager. He retired from Goodyear and tried his hand at cattle brokering before joining the John Eagle Dealerships in 1982 to continue his career in service to automotive customers another 15 years. His last five years of employment were spent serving customers of the famous Elliott's Hardware in Dallas. Respected by all, he was trusted by children and animals and was well known for his "healing hugs." He was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. and Leatrice Leamons, and his son, Terry Layne Leamons. Survivors: His wife, Sandy; his daughters, Karen Leamons of Virgina, Neecie Leamons of Hico; loving stepdaughter, Debbie Black of Itasca; devoted sisters, Betty Cooper (Joe), Dianna Buchanan (Richard), Ada Lou Burks (Winston); and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
