Ruth Fite
CHILDRESS - Ruth Fite, 68, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim McCurley of the church and the Rev. Alan Egerton of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Carey Cemetery in Carey by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Miss Fite was born in Frio County and was a quadriplegic since the age of 16 due to a car accident. She was owner and operator of a telephone answering service and a member of First Baptist Church. She also did telephoning for clubs, churches and civic organizations. Survivors include a sister, Fannie Coyne of El Paso, and two brothers, Horace W. Fite of Ceres Golas and Ross David Fite of Comitan Chiapas.
