Note: Dave Patrick Burson, 51 Funeral services for Dave Patrick Burson, 51, of Jonesboro were held at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Bignar and Steven Bordelon officiating. Interment followed at Ebenezer Cemetery. Mr. Burson died Thursday, December 2, 2004, after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Heart Disease and congestive heart failure. He was at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 14, 1953 in New Orleans. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge from the Army in 1973. He worked in the automotive industry for 30 years until he retired in August of 2001. He loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Burson was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Denise Burson of Jonesboro; daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband Bill of West Monroe; son, Joshua Patrick Burson of Jonesboro; mother and father, Jackie and Dan Burson of Jonesboro; sister, Teresa Dezendorf and husband Roy of Baton Rouge; brother, Michael Burson and wife Yolanda of Ruston; grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, and Hannah Jones of West Monroe; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ladean and Houston Robertson of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Debbie Robertson of West Monroe; grandmother-in-law, Katie Peel of Jonesboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Rick McDow, Wesley Horton, David Roberts, Roy Dezendorf, Joey Davis, and Dinky Williamson. Honorary pallbearer was Benjamin Dezendorf. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Burson’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the American Heart Association. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. - December 9, 2004 --
