Services for C.J. Leamons SR., prominent farmer of R-4, Arkadelphia, were held Saturday afternoon in Copland Ridge Church by Rev. T.T. Alexander, and burial was in the nearby cemetery. Mr. Leamons, who was 65, died in Arkadelphia hospital Thursday. He was born there Nov 30, 1883, a son of I.B. and Fannie Cole Leamons, and was married to Miss Lubi Smith at Copeland Ridge, December 26, 1909. She died Nov. 18, 1938. He was a member of the Union Grove Christian Church. He leaves his father and three daughters, Mrs. Cole Waller and Mrs. Wallace Vaught of R-4, Arkadelphia, and Mrs. Charles Smith JR. of Shumaker, AR; two sons, C.J. JR of R-4, Arkadelphia, and Hugh E. of Shumaker, AR; two sisters, Mrs. S.T. Posey of Arkadelphia and Mrs. H.W. Fite of Childress, Texas; and three brothers, Scott of Dalark, Jesse of Sparkman, and Ernest of R-4, Arkadelphia, all of Arkansas. Published Southern Standard on 10 March 1949.
