  Lodi News-Sentinel (CA) - November 14, 2007 Gussie Leamons |Homemaker Gussie L. Leamons, 89, of Pittsburg, Texas and formerly of Lodi, died on Nov. 11 in Texas. She was born on Feb. 13, 1918, in Kanawha, Texas. Mrs. Leamons married Terry V. Leamons in Oklahoma on Jan. 3, 1942, and they spent their honeymoon driving to Lodi, where they established their first home. In 2003, she, her daughter and son-in-law moved to Utah, and in 2005 they moved to Texas.
  She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, wood puzzles, traveling and visiting family.
  She is survived by her daughters, Juanita Carbonell, of Guatemala, and Alice Dempsey, of Pittsburg, Texas; brothers, Jack Braden, of Chicago Ill., Lou Van Spankeren, of Tulsa, Okla., and Jerry Braden, of Lodi; sisters, Betty Wilson, of Lodi, and Peggy Pettit, of Lodi; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Terry Leamons, and four brothers. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, with Pastor Scott Hubbard of Crossroads Community Church in Lodi officiating. Committal will follow at the Garden of Prayer at Cherokee Memorial Park. There is no visitation.
  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
  Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
