 Doyle E. Leamons, 86, of Fairmount, formerly a longtime resident of Newtown, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He was born in Vaden, Arkansas to Ernest and Nellie Langley Leamons. He married Leona B. Gephart, Feb. 14, 1946, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death Dec. 29, 2005. Surviving are his son, Nolan (Bernice) Leamons of Danville; daughters, Janet (Daryl) Grove of Oakwood and Ruby (Jim) Berlin of Fairmount; grandchildren, Susanne (John III) Wyatt of Indianapolis and Adam Grove and Sarah Grove of Oakwood and brothers, Paul (Betty) Leamons and Burl (Charlene) Leamons of Camden, Arkansas. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ann; son, Dean; sister, Beth;and brothers, Forrest and Glen. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.   Doyle E. Leamons, 86, of Fairmount, formerly a longtime resident of Newtown, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
 Doyle was born April 27, 1923, in Vaden, Ark., the son of Ernest and Nellie (Langley) Leamons. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1942-1946, Doyle worked as a control room operator for Illinois Power, mostly at the Vermilion Power Plant, for 33 years before retiring in 1986. He attended No. 10 Church of Christ in Potomac. Doyle married Leona B. Gephart, Feb. 14, 1946, in Hot Springs, Ark., and she preceded him in death Dec. 29, 2005.
 Surviving is his son, Nolan (Bernice) Leamons of Danville; daughters, Janet (Daryl) Grove of Oakwood and Ruby (Jim) Berlin of Fairmount; grandchildren, Susanne (John III) Wyatt of Indianapolis, Adam Grove and Sarah Grove of Oakwood; brothers, Paul (Betty) Leamons and Burl (Charlene) Leamons of Camden, Ark.; various nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Ann; son, Dean; sister, Beth; and brothers, Forrest and Glen.
 The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in the funeral home. Interment with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard was be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Illini Christian Children’s Home, P.O.
