Note: Perryton Herald, 1961 Local Woman Dies En Route Home Mrs. Wilson Skinner, 41, died early Saturday morning while en route to Perryton from a trip to Hope, Ark. She and her family had been to Hope to attend the funeral services for a brother of Mrs. Skinner and were returning to Perryton when she became ill just east of Vernon, Texas on highway 287. By the time Mr. Skinner rushed her to the hospital in Vernon, she was pronounced dead. Doctors at the hospital attributed her death to a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Skinner had lived in Perryton for about six years and he is employed at the Holland Grain Company. Survivors include her husband, three sons, Jerry, 18, Larry, 15 and Paul Wayne, 12; two brothers, Otha Hickey and Rufus Hickey both of Perryton. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 18, at Hope, Ark., and burial was made in the Hope cemetery.
