a. Note:   l Dorado ARfollowing an eight year battle with cancer. Born August 13, 1935 in El Dorado,AR she was the daughter of Joe Mack Leamons and Thelma Ailene Madera Leamons. She worked as a secretary for Lion Oil Pipeline and was a member of West Side Baptist Church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, she was a faithful supporter of EHS basketball, softball and track. Throughout her eight years of cancer, she was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with. She was a role model for a lot of people who were also battling cancer.
 She was preceded in death by her parents.
 Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Watkins of El Dorado; one daughter, Patricia Herring and her husband Johnny of Strong; a brother, Gene Leamons and his wife Dorothy of El Dorado; and two granddaughters, Katie Lee Herring and Krystal Herring, both of Strong
 Funeral services are scheduled for 2PM Friday, March 16 at the Chapel of Young's Funeral Directors, with Bro. Mike Eklund officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, under the direction of Young's. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home, 508 Champagnolle Road. Memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado AR or to Union County Animal Protection Society (UCAPS), 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado AR 71730.
