Note: untyNew Mexico, USA Coma Pearl L. Taylor, 87, went home to be with her Lord on April 18, 2012, at Silver Care Center, where she had been cared for by her dear friends the staff.A funeral service will be held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 20, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eldon Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. She was born June 23, 1924, to Ernest Eureka Lancaster and Annie Bell Rusk in Dike, Texas. She was one of 14 children, seven boys and seven girls. Her mother died when she was just 14. When she was 16, she hitchhiked with her future mother-in-law to Wichita Falls, Texas, to marry Mack Taylor, who was stationed there.She was a beautician for many years until she became too ill to work. She enjoyed crafts, the many kids she helped to raise, and reading the Bible. She leaves an extended family who called her "Nanee" or "Granny Pearl" but thought of her more as another mother. She is survived by one sister, Jeanette Caires; a daughter, Gail Monger (Darrel) of Silver City; her two sons, Fred Taylor (Barbara) of Deming and Don Taylor (Cynthia) of Silver City; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1963; a grandson, in 2011; one great-grandchild, in 1984; and 12 of her 13 siblings.
