A movie concerning the "Devil's Brigade", starring William Holden, was produced in 1968. Per note from research of Cam Gandy "killed-Anzio Beachhead-WWII." Also, per niece, Jeanette, he was awarded a Purple Heart which was presented to his sister, Pearl. During May 24th the First Special Service Force was fighting to break through the German defensive lines around the Anzio beachhead. We don't know if Albert was killed in this action or had been wounded previously and happened to die on the day of this offensive.
