  J. S. Norrid, 72, Dies in Hospital
  J. S. Norrid, 72 years old, died in a hospital here last night at 8:30 following an illness of about four weeks.
 Mr. Norrid had been engaged in the trucking busines here the last 15 years. He had been in failing health the last year or so.
 He resided at 512 East Eighth Avenue. Survivors include four sons, David E. Norrid, William L. Norrid, Lewis Norrid, all of Amarillo and Solley Norrid of Twitty; three daughters, Mrs. R. M. Barrington and Mrs. Edith Honeycutt, Amarillo, and Mrs. J. W. Ward, Fresno, Cal.; a son-in-law, R. A. Wise of Tulia; a brother, J. W. Norrid, Comanche, Texas and a sister Mrs. Dollie Graham of Dallas. He also leaves 18 grandchildren.
 The body is in state in the Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home pending completion of arrangements for funeral services. (Amarillo Daily News, Sept. 23, 1943).
