Joseph P. Boyle Jr. (1924 - 2010) Joseph P. "Joe" Boyle Jr., 85, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 16, 1924, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 7:43 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. Mr. Boyle was a stationary engineer at John Cochran Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a World War II U.S. Navy and Army veteran. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Mildred, nee Lucas, Boyle, whom he married on Nov. 17, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., and who died on April 19, 2004; two daughters, Joann Boyle and Jane LaFuria; parents, Joseph Perry Boyle Sr., and Maud, nee Cooper, Boyle; two brothers, Clarence and Robert Boyle; and a sister, Hazel Pierce. Surviving are his children, Jim (Judy) Boyle of Collinsville, Ill., Susan Juanita (Gary) Boyle of Collinsville, Ill., Judy (Jerry) Sittner of Maryville, Ill., and Joe (Sue) Boyle III of Troy, Ill.; two sisters, Arvilla Schmelter of Maryville, Ill., and Bea Mayham of Nebraska; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Funeral: Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Ronald Habermehl officiating.
