NORRID
Johnney Norrid, 68, of Comanche died January 9 at 2:42 a.m. at the De Leon Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Norrid were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Woolsey officiating.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews. Born in Comanche County on Aug 30, 1914, Mr. Norrid lived most of his life in Comanche County. He was employed at a local hardware store as a hardware clerk before his illness. A veteran of WWII, he was the son of the late Edward and Azalee Roe Norrid. He married Alva (Faye) Lane on April 27, 1935 in Comanche.
Survivors include his wife, Faye; and one sister, Connie Bukoviny of Uvalde. Johnny R. Norrid, Army, entered 1945, PFC, PTO zone, exitted 1947. Serial # 38649223
November 11, 1955 Comanche Chief:
Mr. & Mrs. Johnnie Norrid and children of Odessa arrived in Comanche Wednesday to visit his mother, Mrs. Ed Norrid and to attend the funeral of his uncle, John Norrid.
