SERVICES- 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in the Hedley Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse, Minister, officiating. INTERMENT- Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Bessie Mahdeene DeBord was born October 16, 1925 in Shamrock to I.M. and Allie Barrington. She was the second of three children. Moved to Amarillo at the age of three months. Graduated from Amarillo High School in 1944. Worked at several banks in Amarillo until marrying Connie DeBord on December 8, 1951. Moved to Hedley, TX in 1955 where she became a homemaker and devoted wife for almost sixty years. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents; her brother, Bob Barrington; and a sister, Ira Woods. SURVIVORS - her husband, Connie; two daughters, Connie Lee Wilson and husband Troy, and Deborah Flanary; 4 grandchildren, Cory and wife Shelley, Brad and wife Julie, Katherine, and Zachary; and 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Joseph, Connor, and Collin

Mahdeene and Connie DeBord of Hedley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Senior Citizen Center in Hedley.
Hosts for the event were the children and the grandchildren of the couple.
The couple were married on Dec. 8, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. The couple previously resided in Amarillo. They have lived in Hedley for 40 years.
DeBord is retired. Mrs. DeBord is retired.
