Note: Geraldine Barrington, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015. Family graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with pastors Bill and Doug Gehm of Grace Church Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Geraldine was born March 1, 1931, in Eastland to Artie and Ray Brannan. She graduated from Amarillo High School and married Robert “Bob” Barrington in Amarillo on Aug. 1, 1948. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2005. She was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo and remained active in the church until her health declined. She was a scout leader and loved camping, RV travel and bowling. She and her husband traveled to South America and Hawaii. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Artie Brannan; her siblings, Milton Brannan, Coy Brannan and Jean Banes; and a great-grandson Brandon Henriquez. Survivors include her children, Dianne McClish and husband Dennis, Larry Barrington, David Barrington and wife Sandra, all of Amarillo, and Becky O’Connor and husband Terry of Borden, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Cathy Henriquez, Kimberly Vincent, James Vincent and Darcy Watson, Jeremy Barrington, Valerie Barrington and husband Jamie, Michael O’Connor and wife Michelle and Patrick O’Connor; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Bas and husband Jo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
