Note: n Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Hallettsville Nursing and Rehab in Hallettsville, Texas. Cremation Rites are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas. No services are scheduled. Alma was born on March 7, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Garnet and Lottie (Schoenbohm) Menger. She married Leon Norrid in 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They lived in Houston, Canyon Lake and Corpus Christi while Leon was employed as a Pharmacist. Alma enjoyed caring for her flower and vegetable gardens. She liked to cook, and was a Girl Scout Den Mother in Corus Christi. She belonged to several Bridge Clubs.She was actine in helping the church and attending social activities. Alma is survived by one daughter; Gerilyn Lea Norrid, one sister; Eddie Nancy Kirkpatrick, one adopted daughter; Marilyn Crow, one cousin; Dottie Mae Gibbs, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Garnet and Lottie Menger, her loving husband of 36 years; Leon Norrid, one brother; garnet C. Menger, and one sister; Lottie C. Kessler.
