Note: . 'Dub' Wilkerson, 75, formerly of Paris died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Greencrest Manor, Greenville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Lamar County to Thurman and Blanche Shelton Wilkerson. He married Dorothy Ward in July 1943 in Lamar County. She died in June 1994. He served in the Navy during World War II, being stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time it was bombed. He retired as a welder from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Hansel and husband Don of Greenville; two sons, Billy Wilkerson and wife Linda of Paris, and James Wilkerson of Clarksville; a brother, J.D. Wilkerson; a sister, Juanetta Easley; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Marion Lee, Earl, and Grover Wilkerson; and a sister, Dovie Landers.'
