Leamons, 80, died at his home in Kosse early Saturday morning. Mr. Leamons had been a citizen of Kosse for the past 60 years. He was born in Denver Parish, Louisiana. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm from the Baptist Church in Kosse. Rev W.H. Sealy officiated. Burial was in the Kosse Cemetery. J. I. Riddle Company of Mexia was in charge of arrangements. Survivors of Mr. Leamons are his wife, four children, Mrs. O. H. Walker of Mexia, Mrs. Sadie Toney and Mrs. Ellen Springfield of Kosse, Walter Leamon of Thornton. Also, one brother of California survives. Obit of Isaac: Groesbeck Journal Thursday Feb 29, 1947. Funeral services held at the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon for Ike Leamons, 79, who died at his home Saturday morning after a long illness. Deceased was born Sept 28, 1867 in Ever Parish, LA. but came to Texas at the age of two years. he has lived in Kosse and surrounding communities for 60 years, having spent his life in farming. He was married to Mamie Hardy of Huntsville in December 1899. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Clark Springfield and Mrs. Sadie Toney and Mrs. W. H. Walker and one son Walter Leamons. One brother Joe Leamons of California. Burial in the Kosse City Cemetery
