a. Note:   r loving family. She was born April 11, 1924 in Tipton, Oklahoma. Helen loved spending time with her family and friends and very much enjoyed cooking big meals. She also liked having large family gatherings. Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Claud E. Pilcher; daughter, Patty Turner of Merced; brother, Herman Lloyd Shuping (Barbara) of Lancaster, CA, R.V. Shuping (Shirley) of Merced; grandchildren, Shelly Turner (Jason) and Korey Turner (Rebecca) both of Merced; great-grandchildren, Natalie Covert, Andrew and Brevin Nannini and Kevin Kimbro all from Merced; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Yuzon, Dr. Dela Pena, the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center, Amy Marchini at Park Merced, and Hinds Hospice of Merced. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hinds Hospice, P.O. Box 763 Merced, California 95341 or to a charity of donors' choice. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Gateway Community Church, 353 East Donna Drive, Merced. Private burial will be held at Plainsburg Cemetery in Le Grand. Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
