Birth: Nov. 16, 1920 Death: Jul. 31, 2002 JUSTIN - Henry Donald Pennington, 81, of Justin died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1920, in Palo Pinto, Texas, to William and Agnes Lewis Pennington. He attended school in Ponder and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a mortarman, where he earned the title of "One Man Gang" while fighting the Japanese. He married Nadine Fanning on Jan. 24, 1946. She passed away in 1988. Donald was a farmer and a homebuilder. He had a unique hobby of making spurs and knives. Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church of Justin. He is survived by his son-in-law, Leonard and his wife Betty Mills Roy of Justin; brother, Frank Pennington of Bridgeport, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Roy in 1994. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Justin, with the Rev. Jason Sidler officiating. Burial will follow in Justin Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, for visitation. Pallbearers will be members of the Justin Fire Department. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 309, Justin, TX 76247. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
