Note: SS 453-44-8266 issued, Texas, last residence, Junction, Kimble County, Texas Walter W. Leamons (from the Junction Eagle) Judge W. W. Leamons, 69, Kimble resident almost 30 years, died unexpectedly Monday morning in the utility room across the hall from his office and the county courtroom where he was preparing to hear court cases. Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) with Marshall Davis, Taft Church of Christ minister, officiating at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of the Church of Christ, 815 College. Burial was in the Junction cemetery beside his wife, who died unexpectedly on July 19, 1963, in their home. Mr. Leamons and his wife and two small children moved to Junction from Houston in the economic depression year of 1933, arriving on Thanksgiving Day. They began their many years of visitation with all residents regardless of race, creed or religion, walking and pulling their little son, ____ and daughter, ____, in a little red wagon. The church on College was the only Church of Christ congregation in town during his five years as minister. From here Mr. Leamons moved his wife and four children, who included ____ and ____, to Los Fresnos. On Aug. 10, 1952 the Cleo congregation began using the Fannie Dupuy Memorial Chapel on 10th Street for regular weekly services. Since 1947 he had conducted a weekly radio program "Bible Broadcast" each Sunday morning sponsored by the church he was serving. As a public service designed especially for the elderly and shutins he reviewed books on a 15-minute program introduced usually with a short summary of current events, each week day morning. He estimated recently that he had written more than one thousand columns which have been carried in the Eagle. During his first tenure in Junction he also served for a time as manager of the Chamber of Commerce. Some ten years or so later he served as president of the Chamber. He had been District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge, chaplain of the lodge and Junction Volunteer Fire Department, president of the Junction Lions Club, and member of the WOW, library board, Kimble Historical Association, active in all phases of civic and religious life. He was born Aug 14, 1899 in Eldorado, Ark. His family moved to Houston Co. when he was two. He later returned to Arkansas to attend Harding College.
