"Chinky" Brown, 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: 2 p.m. in Ebenezer Cemetery in Headsville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Dollar, Mike Johnson, Joe Stevens, Happy Hannon, Weldon McDonald, Bud Law, Joe Wade and Frank Gladden. Memorials: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or a charity of choice. Charles was born March 20, 1925, in Fort Worth to Alex and Odie Brown. He retired from General Portland Cement after 40 years. Charles served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an avid golfer, currently employed at Z. Boaz Golf Course. He was a past member of Tangle Foot Dance Group. He enjoyed his cabinet shop and was the family carpenter. Daddy loved sports -- Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. He and Mother loved to travel after his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Anna Ruth, earlier this year. Survivors: Daughters, Bonnie Gibbs and husband, John, and Carol Bradley; grandchildren, Skeet Gibbs and wife, Tina, James Gibbs and wife, Alicia, Jeremy Gibbs, Jim Bradley and wife, Kecia, and Kelli Bradley Woods; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jordan, Taylor, Olivia and Samantha Gibbs, Raegan and Bradley Woods and Charley Jean Bradley; brother, Arnold J. Brown; sister, Doris Bingham and husband, Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews.
