GrissomD.M. ?Dee? Grissom, 72, of Paris went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2004.Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. James Smith and the Rev. Tim Young officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.He was born July 26, 1931, in Athens, the son of M.A. and Iva Thompson Grissom. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, was a building contractor and owned and operated a custom cabinet shop for the last 15 years. He was a member of Church of God for 35 years and attended Lifeline Worship Center.He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.Survivors include his wife, Connie Provence Grissom, whom he married Nov. 20, 1948; a son, Randell Grissom and wife, Monica, of Odessa; two daughters, Rhonda Ellis and husband, Richard, of Midland and Melissa Grissom of Paris; four grandchildren, Lindsay Ratliff and husband, James, of Midland, Alex Snellen of Midland, Chad Grissom of Odessa and McKela Grissom of Odessa; two brothers, Howard Grissom and wife, Delores, of California and Johnny Grissom and wife, Rachel, of Midland; along with one sister, Iva Nell Simmons and husband, J.D., of Jacksonville.Casket bearers will be Jerry Grissom, Steven Stringer, Richard Weemes, Brad Weemes, Tim Stringer, Joe Harrison and Bobby Ausmus.
