Note: Hazel Erlyne Pass-Pennington On February 15, 2008 our precious Nanny, Hazel Erlyne Pass-Pennington , went home to our Lord and Savior. We know there was a joyous reunion with her mother, father, brother and sister, Julia, William Sr., Bill Jr. and Jane Wheat. Remaining here to miss her until our time to join the reunion are her son and daughter, Rick Pennington and Lynda Armstrong, sister, Mari Beale, nephew Dale Beale, grand and great grandchildren, Leslie Rienhardt, Chance Young, Rodi and Bethany Venable, Winston Pennington and Michael York. She was married a few times, to Joe Frank Pennington, beginning in 1949 for a total of 33 years. They remained friends until his passing in June 2007.
Our Nanny was a passionate nurse for over 35 years. She retired from the Denton County Sheriff's Department and continued to take care of and heal people with love until her passing. She was a strong, wise and giving woman who taught us unconditional love and abiding faith. She believed in everyone when they didn't believe in themselves. She let us borrow from her strength until we found ours again. Our desire is to convey our love for her through these words.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 3 - 5 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Eakins Cemetery in Ponder.
