a. Note:   ebruary 27, 2012, at the Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Roberts and Bro. Lee McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Drewery Memorial Park in Nacogdoches. He was born November 26, 1946 in San Augustine, Texas, the son of Travis Harold and Flossie Willena Williams Drewery and he passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Harlon played baseball at the school in Appleby when he was young; was a member of the FFA and graduated from Nacogdoches High School, then attended Panola Junior College. He was a self-employed general contractor until his retirement, working first, with his father in the family tree service, sawmill business and later, moving houses; he was also a cattleman. Harlon was a great Dad and Grandfather, a good storyteller, excellent marksman and a member of the NRA. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting, duck and quail hunting, fishing and camping. Harlon enjoyed yearly vacations with his parents, his wife, children and other extended family. He was a Baptist and a member of Harvest Pointe Community Fellowship Church. In addition to his wife of 43 years, Peggy E. Knapp Drewery; Harlon is survived by children, Michael Drewery and wife, Sara, Stephanie Drewery, Amber Drewery Allen, Wendy Drewery Rogers and husband, Joe, all of Nacogdoches; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Roach, Dillon Graham, Austin Allen, Kaleigh Allen, Helen Drewery, Laura Drewery, Jonah Drewery and Calie Rogers; sister, Lorraine Bender; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding Harlon, in death, was his parents, Travis and Flossie; and sisters, Loretta George and Carolyn Maddox. Those serving as pallbearers will be Joe Rogers, Joshua Roach, Dillon Graham, Blake Goolsby, Mark Williams, Keith Drewery, and Wayne Hopson; honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Williams, Ken Duncan and Austin Allen. Visitation, with Harlon’s family, will be from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Published in the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel Feb. 26, 2012
