Note: ehab in Lyons, on December 10th after an extended illness. A native of Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, she lived most of her life in Vidalia. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar D. Barfield, brothers Wilford Chaddrick and Earbie Chaddrick, one grandson Hesham Helmy, and one great-grandson Jake Kennedy. Survivors include one son Jimmy R. Barfield (Jo Ann) of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters Janice Kennedy (Gary), Peggy Collins (Phillip) of Collins, GA, and Karen Bowen (Jeff) of Santa Claus, GA. Also surviving are five brothers Munion, Herman, Clen, Charlie, and Hoite; four sisters Elva Mae, Yvonne, Lucille, and Jean. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 14th at 3:00 pm with Reverend David Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 on Tuesday evening.
