Note: Elva Mae Chaddrick Nelson January 6, 1929 - March 10, 2016
Services for Mrs. Elva Mae Chaddrick Nelson will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016 at The G. A. Mangun Center of The Pentecostal of Alexandria with Reverend Anthony Mangun and Reverend Jeff Wainwright officiating. Burial will be in Turkey Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers.
The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the G. A. Mangun Center.
Mrs. Nelson, 87, of Pineville passed from this life, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a member of The Pentecostals of Alexandria and worked in the Grandparent program at Pinecrest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodard Woodrow Nelson; son, Aubrey Gerald “Scooter” Nelson; parents, Frank and Ida Lemons Chaddrick; brothers, Erby Chaddrick and Wilford Chaddrick; sister, Epsie Lee Barfield.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, John Robert Nelson and companion, Joyce, Jerome Dwight Nelson and wife, Kay, Darwin Woodrow Nelson and wife, Lyne; daughters, Loretta N. Jewell and husband, John, Charlotte N. Walker and husband, Rick; brothers, Munion Chaddrick, Herman Chaddrick, Clen Chaddrick, Charlie Chaddrick, Hoite Chaddrick; sisters, Yvonne Lunsford, Lucille Clark and Emma Jean Hogan; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Heath Nelson, Waylon Nelson, Gerald Nelson, Austin Rennier, Shane McDaniel and Ryan Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Shuler and Tim Basco.
