Note: Grapeland Messenger, Grapeland, Texas December 20, 1973 Leamons Rites Held Tuesday A. C. Leamone, 64 of Grapeland, was dead on arrival at Grapeland Community Hospital Sunday at 2:30 p.m., following a sudden illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 230 p.m. in the Sunset Christian Church at Grapeland, with the Rev. Kenneth Preis officiating Burial was in the Davis Cemetery, east of Grapeland.
Pallbearers were Hubert Brimberry, Ray Brmlow, Grady Edge Russell Skidmore, Larry Yates, Lem Langham and Tom James.
Mr. Leamons was born in Texas on November 29, 1909 to William Duke Leamons and Mrs. Mattie Moorehead Leamons, and he moved to Grapeland at an early age. At the time of his death, he was serving as general manager for Greer Bros. Chevrolet in Oakwood where he had been employed for over 20 years. He was a member of the Sunset Christian Church, and Grapeland Lodge No. 43 AF & AM.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Leora Smith Leamons of Grapeland; one daughter, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Shaver of Dallas one brother, E.T. Leamons of Grapeland; five sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Stockbridge of Grapeland, Mrs. Johnnie Lee Marable, Mrs. Sylvia Lively, and Mrs. Marjorie Graham, all of Crockett and Mrs. Gertrude Adams of San Augustine; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
