He was born in Navo, TX, on April 14th to Randall and Willie Juanita Venable. He courageously joined the Army, serving in Vietnam. He earned 3 Purple Hearts (oak leaf cluster) and a Bronze Star while proudly serving God and our country. Like many heroes, he left that service scarred. The shrapnel throughout his body was a constant reminder of his brave sacrifices.
He chose a career as a truck driver for over 40 years, making many friends along his journey. There are some who consider him a brother and are equally saddened by his departure.
He gave freely and did not use the words, "I can't". There are so many fond memories to comfort us. He was a meticulous and organized man and everything had a place. He would even have his denim shorts heavy starched. He enjoyed spending time with people he loved, listening to good old country music, and Elvis. The tradition is to stand during Elvis' Trilogy song, remove your hat and cover your heart.
Comforting him until his death were his wife, Lynda Jo Venable, daughters, Kodi Venable and Leslie Rienhardt, and grandchildren, Ethan Young and Bethany Venable. He leaves behind two sisters, Vicki Houser and Sheri Patton, a son, Jef Venable and wife Tami, and granddaughters, Julie Venable and Miranda Liggett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Venable, and their parents.
He has so many who loved him who are left to share his stories and mourn his passing. There will be a "Safety Meeting" scheduled at a later time.
