 Birth: Jun. 8, 1926 Death: Jul. 16, 1949 Justin Man is Instantly Killed As Car Rams Bridge Abutment W. R. Pennington, 23, of Justin, was killed instantly and a passenger, James Ross Moon, 24, was injured when Pennington's car went out of control and hit a bridge abutment on Farm Market Road 156, 4 miles south of Justin about 4 pm Saturday. The pair were on their way to Justin from Fort Worth when the accident occurred. Pennington's body was thrown clear of the 1946 Chevrolet sedan he was driving. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. J. H. Miles, Justin. Moon was rushed to Dr. J. H. Allen's Clinic in Justin where he received treatment for cuts and bruises. Deputy Andy Anderson of the Denton sheriff's department investigated the crash. Funeral services will be held this afternoon in the Methodist Church in Ponder. Time for the services had not been set late Saturday night. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery at Justin. Goen Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Pennington is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pennington; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Simmons and Mrs. Willie Mae Seals of Justin; and five brothers, Chester and John Pennington of Palo Pinto, Donald and Frank Pennington of Justin, and Paul of Ponder.
