Note: Houston County Courier: SYLVIA LEAMONS LIVELY Mrs. Sylvia Leamons Lively, age 92 of Grapeland, departed this life Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at ETMC-Crockett. Mrs. Lively was born January 11, 1918 in Grapeland, Texas to William Duke and Mattie Ann Morehead Leamons. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married M.T. (Red) Lively July 23, 1938. They were the parents of two daughters Virginia and June. Survivors include her daughters Virginia Ann Higgon and husband George, of Brazoria and June Garst, of Conroe; grandsons James Franklin Thompson, Christopher Wayne Hinman and Douglas Anthony Landry; great-grandchildren Jamie, Chris, Lauren and Tiffany Thompson, Amanda and Cassie Hinman and Elizabeth Landry, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Preceded in death by her husband M.T. (Red) Lively May 18, 2000; parents William Duke and Mattie Ann Morehead Leamons; six brothers Wallace Leamons, Arthur Leamons, ,J.D. Leamons, A.C. Leamons, E.T. Leamons and Howard Leamons; four sisters Willie Mae Stockbridge, Johnie Lee Marable, Gertrude Adams and Marjorie Graham Gale. Funeral Services for Mrs. Sylvia Leamons Lively were held Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Grapeland with Alan Sowders and Gary Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Livelyville Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Burial will follow in Livelyville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.Mrs. Lively died Tuesday at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Grapeland.
