Wenatchee World - July 19, 1999 MIKEY L. STOWERS Wenatchee Mikey Lee Stowers passed from this life Thursday, July 15, 1999 at the age of 75 years. She was born February 9, 1924 at Swink, OK. She met and married Thomas C. Stowers, June 30, 1945. They moved to Wenatchee in the fall of 1946. She worked 12 years at the Orchard Middle School as a cook and her nickname was the Cookie Monster. She enjoyed arts and crafts work, especially crocheting and making afghans. She is survived by her husband Tom of the home, two children, Billie C. Stowers of Wenatchee, Roger L. and his wife Terry Stowers of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Ruby J. Williams and Thelma F. Foster of Oklahoma City, OK; her stepmother, Corine Spence of Valliant, OK; a beloved sister-in-law, Peachie and her husband, Roy Woolsey; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents W. J. and Annie C. Spence, two brothers Herman and Thurman Spence. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our House c/o Cancer Center, P.O. Box 2044, Wenatchee, WA 98807.
