Note: n) Spence Funeral services were held Monday, December 18, 2000 for Corine Spence, 83, of Valliant, Oklahoma, who died December 15, 2000 at Paris, Texas. Born February 8, 1917, the daughter of Jess and Clemmie (Phelps/Milligan) Blackburn, she had lived most of her life in Valliant. She married William J. Spence on June 23, 1937 in Mena, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Mikey Lee Stowers, one son, Thurman Spence, four brothers, Wesley and Luther Blackburn, Ben Milligan and Abe Pugh, and one sister, Ida Milligan Ridenour. Survivors include, two daughters, Ruby Williams and Thelma Foster both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Johnny Pugh of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Valliant Church of Christ with Virgil Romine officiating. Burial followed at Valliant Cemetery under the direction of Miller and Miller Funeral Home.
