Note: f Lamar County, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Herron was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Lamar County, a son of James Merle and Zola Ford Herron. He attended public schools in Linden, then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a mill operator for Paris Milling Company until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Gossett's Chapel Church of Christ in Jacksonville. He married Dorothy Ward in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1971. He later married Lois Cunningham in 1973. She died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Herron and wife Jenny of Sumner; a daughter, Sandra Chesshir and husband Gary of Troup; five grandchildren, Jonie Herron and Krisi Herron, both of Sumner, Amanda Jo Chesshir of Troup, Michelle Nall of Fouke, Ark., and Barbara Moore of Ft. Riley, Kan.; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Esterlean Dean of Bryan; five stepchildren, Alta Gay Livingston of Paris, Damion Cunningham of Cooper, Rorry Cunningham of Paris, Gary Lee Cunningham of Paris, Chris Cunningham of Connecticut, and numerous stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Herron. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Graham, Randy Morrison, Chad Johnson, Mack Herron, Damion Cunningham, Garry Lee Cunningham and Rorry Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers will be the brethren from the Church of Christ at Gossett's Chapel.'
